Job Summary:
Interning with Digital Cloak will provide you with valued technical experience needed to jumpstart your place in today’s competitive working environment, while teaching you essential skills to be successful in a career in Cybersecurity. We offer an unparalleled summer experience, helping you to navigate the vast field of cybersecurity through exposure to multiple facets of the business processes we cover.

At Digital Cloak, we care about fostering the whole person, not just improving your technical skills. The Digital Cloak Internship Program will aid in strengthening an assortment of critical soft skills such as communication, collaboration, personal effectiveness, presentation, problem solving, teamwork, and analytical skills.

Essential Functions:
  • Work full-time onsite at Digital Cloak Headquarters as a seasonal hire within a small technical team
  • Install operating systems such as Linux, MacOS, Windows, and configure them
  • Understand security related practices
  • Introduce professional writing through activities such as writing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process documents, business plans, and other technical documents
  • Utilize MS Office suite for related tasks
  • Gain experience in areas such as technical support, data management, quality assurance, policy creation, website design, software development, offensive cyber operations, system administration, vulnerability testing, risk analysis, SIEM, technical documentation and more

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn a variety of skills and tools

  • Proficiency in Office 365
  • Ability to multitask and be flexible.
  • Ability to self-learn tools, programming languages, concepts, and/or other task related items.
  • Thorough understanding of internet research

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Experience with various Linux distributions
  • Current possession of a clearance and/or suitability
  • Experience with Cisco IOS and PFSENSE
  • Experience with SSH, SCP, SFTP
  • Experience working with different cyber tools such as Metasploit, CORE Impact, ncat, nmap, tcpdump, bettercap, p0f, Burp Suite, or other similar tools
  • Experience developing in low level programming languages
  • Experience developing in high level programming languages
  • Experience in technical writing
  • Currently has any of the following certifications or similar: Comptia Secutiry+, Comptia A+, CCNA, Comptia Network+,
  • Experience creating, working with, or in formalized research of Artificial Intelligence
  • Experience conducting, presenting, and/or publishing formalized research
  • Previous military experience

Track System:
Due to the nature of our growing company, it is preferred that applicants have experience or a desire to pursue one or more of the following tracks. The interview process will require applicants to select one of the following tracks to assess their technical knowledge:
  • System Administrator
    • Knowledge pertaining to networking including network diagraming, managing firewall rules, patching, backups, and basic network troubleshooting
    • CompTIA Net+
    • Experience installing, configuring, and using tools such as proxmox, ELK stack,
    • Understanding of network hardware (such as servers, switches, etc)
    • Comfortability using the command line and/or powershell
  • Developer
    • Experience programming in low- and high-level programming languages
    • Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming
    • Experience using various packages such as .NET, ArcGIS, etc.
    • Understanding of waterfall, agile, and/or scrum methodologies
  • Compliance
    • Understanding of FISMA, NIST 800, CNSSI 1253, and/or CMMC
    • Strong technical writing skills
    • Knowledge of various aspects of the network stack
    • Basic network and application troubleshooting
    • Experience working with and implementing business rules
  • Data Science
    • Proficiency using Excel Macros
    • Experience programming in VBA
    • Strong math and statistic skills
    • Familiarity with PowerBI

Required Education Related Experience:
  • Actively attending university while pursuing an undergraduate degree or taking High School DE or College Prep classes OR any equivalent combination of education and experience


Physical Job Requirements:
  • This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) more than half the time
  • This position requires the ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors

Qualifications:
  • US Citizenship is required
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

  • This position has possible travel requirements to attend applicable conferences or seminars

Note on Interview Process:
Due to the limited number of available spots and the high level of interest in our internship program, this year’s interview process will follow a new structure:

  • Round 1: Candidates will submit a 3-minute elevator pitch introducing themselves, followed by 7 minutes of technical questions related to their chosen track (System Administration, Developer, Compliance, or Data Science).

  • Round 2: Selected candidates from Round 1 will be invited to a traditional interview for further evaluation.
