Digital Cloak is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join our team and assist in evaluating and modernizing our customer's network infrastructure. The Cyber Security Engineer will have a deep understanding of cyber vulnerabilities within Microsoft environments and extensive experience in identifying and mitigating security risks and trends. This is largely a planning and advisory role, and does not require the employee to provide emergency response on nights or weekends. We are looking for a professional who enjoys tackling technical challenges, working collaboratively, and leading cybersecurity initiatives.

Essential Functions

  • Advise on and implement modernization efforts to enhance cybersecurity.
  • Identify security risks and mitigation strategies for threats within Microsoft environments.
  • Work with a team to design state-of-the-art secure operating systems, networks, and database products.
  • Handle the full range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.
  • Monitor cybersecurity trends and identify strategies to address emerging threats.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cybersecurity processes and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for cybersecurity.
  • Collaborate with IT and network administration staff to optimize cybersecurity measures.
  • Monitor and analyze security performance, identifying tuning and optimization strategies.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Deep understanding of cyber vulnerabilities within Microsoft environments.
  • Extensive experience with network modernization efforts.
  • Experience with encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analsis, and security technologies.
  • A good grasp on technology and cybersecurity techniques that will be emerging over the next decade.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Required Education, Certifications / Licenses, Related Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 7 years of demonstrated experience with cybersecurity evaluation and related protocols, tools, and implementation.
  • Experience in administering and optimizing cybersecurity within Microsoft environments.
  • Relevant certifications in cybersecurity and risk management.

Preferred Education, Certifications / Licenses, Related Experience

  • Experience working with and providing advisory services to senior Government personnel.
  • Advanced degree in a related field.
  • Additional certifications in advanced cybersecurity techniques and tools.

Physical Job Requirements

  • This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) more than half the time.
  • This position requires the ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors.

Clearance Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Current active DoD SECRET clearance is required.

Primary Work Location(s)

  • This is a hybrid position. On-site work will be performed at the customer's facility in Stafford, VA. Employee must live within a 45 minute drive of customer's facility.

Travel Requirements

  • This position has travel requirements up to 10%.
